In the U.S. from 2020 – 2023, Arizona\u2019s 63.1% rise in border encounters stretched housing and schools, while New York\u2019s 50% migrant increase (from 40,000 to 60,000) strained shelters; globally, Malta\u2019s 271.4% rise overwhelmed schools and healthcare. Smaller U.S. towns felt the impact: Chicago housed 40,000+ migrants since 2022, costing $150 million; Denver saw 30,000, raising school enrollment by 10%; Boston sheltered 11,000, upping enrollment by 12%; and Springfield, Ohio, managed 12,000\u201315,000 Haitian immigrants, spending $50,000 monthly on translations.<\/p>
